How are slicer blades manufactured?

  • Cutting:
    Manufacturing a slicer blade starts with cutting the blade's shape from a metal sheet using a CNC machine.

  • Heating:
    Next, the blade's blank is heat treated to improve its properties. Heat treatment involves heating the blade to a high temperature and cooling it rapidly.

  • Sharpening:
    After heat treating the blade, it is sharpened to remove any imperfections. And it undergoes a grinding process to make its edge sharper.

  • Coating:
    The tips of the blade can be coated with chromium or tungsten to improve their resistance to wear and corrosion.
